it’s actually jokes but seriously dude u mentioned Lou reed loving the album without context then gave an example of you enjoying a bar cause you had context. my only point was that context adds value and meaning idk how you can disagree with that simple statement
we were talking directly about how knowing about Kanye/Nike makes the context of yeezus better as you see it. I mentioned how Lou reed, as he wrote it, seems to have had as nuanced of an appreciation for the album as I did - someone who knows everything about Kanye/Nike. My understanding and appreciation of the album is not influenced by the Nike situation as much as it is its general commentary on classism and race relations from the perspective of a black mega celebrity, and I dont see how the specific issue of Kanye/Nike was translated through the album in a way where you needed a specific understanding of the issue to comprehend Kanye's messaging and frustrations
