JIK came out right after I got out of the hospital after attempting suicide, it helped a lot with my recovery so no one will ever be able to tell me s*** about that album.
I've always loved ye. I think it's a great insight into his mind and, to date, is the most true-to-Kanye album we have (that title was previously held by TLOP).
I like Donda, like a lot... but I still prefer TLOP to it. As far as the Deluxe goes I very much dislike it. The track order ruins the flow of the album, it no longer peaks at the end, instead it peaks before track 10 and then meanders on for another almost 20 tracks. I also don't care for the tracks he added, NAYF is great but LOTP is a bit of a mess to me. I would love it as a Kanye solo track or an Andre solo track, but together they clash in a pretty bad way, like water and oil. UFTA is such a boring, aimless song, it features a pretty bad vocal performance by Kanye and the message he attempts to deliver on the song he's done WAY better on other songs, there's no purpose for it and it's a total momentum killer. Combine that with Remote Control pt 2 coming right after it, which itself has a momentum killing Cudi verse, and then God Breathed which as a song I love, but imo is absolutely not the song to have after those two, and you have, what I consider to be the worst stretch on any Kanye album ever.
i appreciate the insight. I’m glad to hear you like Donda, and i personally don’t see donda deluxe as it’s own album, but just some bonus additions to Donda.
I agree that the sequencing was really weird, and i love the original Donda sequencing. Personally i really like LOTP and KMSA pt2 so having those on streaming was a godsend.
anyways, i agree with you about JIK and Ye. love both of those albums and don’t understand the hate for them at all.

Make your own tracklist and it’s great

My own tracklist would just be the regular Donda album.

i did that but switched some of the stuff around and its really nice
really digging this album. Been playing it a lot on Spotify this year. Praise God was #5 on my top 5 songs for 2021, even tho Spotify chooses the songs. It was even chosen as my dance-off song. wtf?
The only song I skip on the album is the Donda chant.

I don't watch reaction videos much anymore but I got bored and watched some Donda reactions tonight and bruh...Kanye is different, man. He really is. When Kanye is good, really good, everyone is better off for it. Watching reactions to Off the Grid, people are thrilled to be able to say something really good about Ye again. And Come to Life? Not a single bad word about that track anywhere. Instant classic.
F***, I love Donda. It's mad frustrating sometimes and the rollout was like pulling teeth but you're not getting this kind of vulnerability and revelatory content anywhere else in the mainstream with these huge features and epic cinematic moments.
Kanye has been the king of transparency in the limelight from day 1 and it's refreshing to hear that he hasn't lost an ounce of that despite being given every opportunity to shut down and cut himself off. He's still out here being a flamboyant real one in a genre that was terrified of that for a long, long time. I'll always love that about Ye.

put it top 10 in their aoty lists
I guess that's the reception once they cast bias aside

If its not in the top 10, the list is not legit
