yea i prefer the released more than any other version. interesting to see what kanye thinks these tracks signify.
gonna have to make it with the lq recording of daylight until it releases on vory's album and lq recording of og lotp until it hopefully leaks.
It just kills me that those two songs and Never Abandon Your Family didn't make it. They'd only add to the themes and quality of what we got.
DONDA : Classic Redux tracklist
1 Moon (beautiful intro MBDTF style)
2 Believe What I Say (pop hit at the top, transitions perfectly as moon and BWIS stop and start on the same note/key)
3 Jail (guitars hit way harder not having Donda chant in front which was mastered too loud for Jail to hit hard)
4 Pure Souls (perfect transition from pop/rap vibes of the album into the dramatic vocal ending)
5 Heaven and Hell (the sonic shift from pop to darkness which pure souls hints at)
6 24 (mourning, spiritual, interlude of sorts)
7 New Again (rebirth)
8 God Breathed (dark, meditative)
9 Off The Grid (escape, heavy raps for back half of album)
10 No Child Behind (nicer as an interlude than closing track)
11 Come To Life (the whole song is an emotional build up which needs to be properly resolved to…)
12 Hurricane (epic as a closer. It sounds powerful and like a conclusion. If you loop the album you hear the really smooth Hurricane-Moon transition)
I swear this tracklist feels like a classic album. Not a moment wasted and the transitions are amazing. Try it before you s*** on me
Just started trying this out.
I chose to switch Jail and Pure Souls around. The juxtaposition of BWIS and Jail is a bit too jarring, Pure Souls seems to tie in nicely after BWIS as well as ending with more of a fade out. "Is truth the only thing you get a way with" coming right before "Jail" is pretty nice too. Heaven & Hell coming in after Jail's cell doors slamming sounds fitting, a track like Jail to then have a climactic track afterwords with Kanye expressing how he's fed up.
that's where I am atm

still available to me. he talks about how he did a new mix for Come To Life but it's very subtle

still up, at that timestamp he talks about Come to Life saying:
"Yeah it's very, um, strange. We touched up on that mix too so, if there's gonna be another release it's gonna get an updated mix. Nothing major but you know just a little, little tweaks. In fact, if it comes out go listen to it, and if you spot the difference let me know and I'll tell you yay or nay."
