MaartinsThis album idk how im feeling a week out
Initially even up until yesterday i had it at an 8.5 but now idk there are a couple factors that’s making me rethink
For one YE is often the weakest link vocally (not bad just relative to people featured), this mostly applies to like the first 8-10 songs
Second, the censorship….don’t need explain
Lastly this album is basically the equivalent of sensory overload and like a Kanye version of more life. Lot of brilliant flashes and it’s like whoa this is the best music ive heard in a while but as a whole i cant enjoy a lot of these songs singularly unless i run thru the whole record and put myself in that “mindset” if that makes sense
As of rn im feeling more of a 7.8/10

None over it but from the stuff ive enjoyed this year (vince, clb, wlr, tyler) it’s not like wayyy better than any of those
Imo they’re all more or less relative and dependent on what kind of hip hop u like
This year was interesting for music. No S tier albums but a bunch of A and A- really good albums

But a lot of these songs sound unfinished
WHICH isn’t a bad thing. Endless by frank has a similar “unfinished” vibe and that’s a great record so i still enjoy the album just can’t really play a lot of the songs out the blue and that matters when u drop almost 30 songs lol
