I don’t dislike Drake’s lyrics on the opener but the beat just drains any momentum the track is going for.
The sample flip was a cool idea but those drums are definitely not it.

The critical reception to this album is baffling to me, everything's subjective, but this is the best Kanye in a looong time for me and it's weird that few reviewers feel the same, I get the controversy stuff and understand it tbh, but even from reviews purely on the music the consensus seems to be that it's mid when it feels like way more strongly polarising stuff
