Ye > Jesus is King > Donda is the worst regression of an artist that I have ever seen.
Ye seemed like a return to form, though short, it focused on philosophy and concepts that he knew were proven to work while also adapting new ideas that complemented them well.
Jesus is King is a chaotic, narcissistic, and out of touch album. Which when it comes to Kanye sounds like a recipe for success. Except this time he obsesses over a gospel aesthetic that was successful in 2016. Then takes that style and mashes it to hell until it's tiring and hard to enjoy.
Then Donda. Oh my god Donda. It's a three track album. There are plenty of three track albums out there. The thing is those albums have 10 songs, maybe a dozen. Donda has 27 tracks. It's almost two entire hours of garbage with a handful of enjoyable music. It is extremely repetitive in style and sound. He uses trap style delivery, a simplified and underdeveloped subgenre of hip hop, on numerous occasions. Many songs are a collection of around a dozen words repeated over and over. This album has no aesthetic, style, energy, it's a flack set of b-sides.
I think we're witnessing the collapse of one of the most important and influential artists of our generation and it's not because of his mental health. He's just lost his edge.
he doesn't need to
drake didnt say s***
he did on 7am on bridle path and on no friends in the industry but honestly these aren't worth to respond
on the other hand... he responded to that s***ty betrayal verse
