Sep 1, 2021·1 replybe2saneNo you see, i think its actually not a hard song, and let me tell you why. I believe the drill beat that comes in at the Fivio verse is just not that good fam. The bassline is like all over the place, which could technically work had it been executed with finesse, but sadly it hadn’t. The person who wrote that ugly bassline melody does not deserve to and should not be around any basslines on drillbeats in the future. Truly a waste of a beat, that’s why i called it a doodoo wannabe gangster drillbeat itt and people are upset at me for speaking the truth. Deep down they know i be spitting facts that’s why i have to keep hammering it in to make sure it lasts. Doodoo execution, bad bassline. First part with Carti was impeccable. Wasted potential.
i think a lot of my enjoyment with it comes from LP3. that moment when kanye came back in and none of us were expecting it was crazyyyyy lol
and that visual of him turning up and manson and dababy mobbing behind him is so hard lol

Thats true, and i think its a major factor why so many people are led to believe that the drillbeat that accompanies his verse is good, but it’s not. Cus if you listen on closer inspection, you will unquestionably notice that the beat is significantly less impressive and interesting as the bassline melody progresses. Coupled with the fact that the first beat of the track feels way grander and ominous it just shows you the potential was there. But sadly Carti was the only highlight, despite the hard Fivio and Ye verses. That bassline really sours my taste when i try to pay attention to the lyrics and it throws me off cus it sounds clownish, not “hard” at all.
