Another criticism i don’t like is “but why doesn’t he talk about Donda more on an album about her?” If you say this I just know immediately you missed the entire point of the album. He talks specifically about the trauma and anguish that troubles him to this day about her death in Jesus Lord, and that’s why that song is the centerpiece. Everything stems from that song. This album is an exploration of how that trauma and hurt derailed his life, isolated him, exacerbated mental health issues, etc. and how he heals through the binding force that his mother gave him: Christ.
