hot pancakeshahah i did on JIK but that eventually grew on me a lot, i’m sure this one will grow on you eventually!
and yeah i hate myself for doing it. i really liked it how it was, best kanye album since TLOP imo.
but at the end of the day, there was some songs on there that i really thought were just straight filler (jonah, for example. vory sounds great but kanyes verse is just not that good lol)
so cutting out all the bloat makes the album flow so nicely
again, i’m usually 110% against doing it because the artist intended it to be a certain way and breaking that breaks the intended experience of the album, but i think this one called for it
plus i still have the full version so when i wanna do a deep dive, i can always listen to it the way he apparently intended. but if i’m on like an hour drive or something, i can throw on my Donda Playlist and have a really nice sweet 14 track queue i can listen to and enjoy it the whole way
see the reason why i don't do that is cus it's so arbitrary
cus musically, Jonah is the one track that stood out to me lol wild
I see what you mean though, maybe its more of a "nice playlist" version instead of "reshaping the album" situation. I rarely listen to albums in full anyway these days... i see your point for sure
and i really really really hope and believe this is gonna grow on me
