Kanye is an expert troll because he can flip the bird to good sense and taste for months, years on end and still come through on wax.

It's what many of us have been saying for years: if Kanye could sit the f*** down for a second and focus on his craft, we would get a good album. As chaotic as this rollout has been, he has been focusing on the music lately and you can tell. Lyrically this is miles from his best work, but you get a good sense of who he is and where he's at right now from his contributions and the surrounding features.

Instrumentally and melodically, this is leagues ahead of ye and JIK. It's not a broad sonic palette like Pablo, but the songwriting is strong and shockingly consistent for how long the album is. There's a lot of 808s and Yeezus, so fans of those albums should find things to like. The synth pads are so good throughout, New Again gave this old school Grad fan chills. The piano on Come to Life is so f***ing pretty too.

The best thing I can say about the album is that I can't pick out much that I dislike, even with 108 minutes to choose from. The highs are there too: Believe What I Say through Jesus Lord really restored the feeling.

Today is a good day. Tune out the drama and focus on all this great music, it's what's kept Kanye fans around this long. The harvest is over and we're feasting now.
