i don't know the ins and outs of their relationship so i can't speak on that. honestly doubt it's that black and white though, it seems more like they just grew apart the wilder kanye got and the more hov settled down. it happens between old friends all the time unfortunately, and that's why it feels so cathartic to hear hov repping kanye again like old times. it might not be his best verse, but there's a lot of heart in it. if there was no choice but to cut him though, he could have been replaced by anyone but dababy lmao.

Jay been straightforward his entire career. He about his bag. He distanced himself from Ye because he thought it could hurt his bag, then he wants to pop back in when Kanye is quiet and literally wearing a mask? S*** is weak.
