Just did some digging. Unfortunately, it seems like the whole “house is burning” theory is wrong. Per §11.W2.003 (Chicago’s housing/venue codes), you “cannot burn more than 1 cubic tonnage of material in a venue setting during summer months” (June, July, and August). If anyone is familiar with typical housing materials (I used to be a carpenter, so mildly experienced in the avenue), then you would know that house is certainly over 1 cubic tonnage. Sorry guys, but it’s not happening.
