Dude it's like a common sense, but if we have never heard this songs in the first place, we wouldn't know if it's recorded recently or even in CD era.

tl;dr, Kanye is not just producing new music for Donda, he's also recreating his scrapped projects and records that he thought were good for an album not meant as tribute to his mother.
Okay, so this may seem a bit far fetched, but I feel like the reason Kanye's taking so much time to release the album is because he's going back through his entire unreleased and leaked discography and he's trying to recreate and/or compile the songs that were good to be put into Donda.
Few points that I thought of:
We see hurricane, which apparently was a part of Yandhi, and it would have been really cool if Yandhi had come out. But since it was so good, Ye wanted it on the record that was a tribute to his mum.
In the 2 weeks that we've seen Kanye record and work on Donda, it's not confirmed by any one of the people around him that this project will not have previous works
A person like Kanye, who's worked with so many brilliant artists, definitely has some records that are stored with the record labels as part of the scrapped projects and Kanye's trying to get the rights back to those. Also contacting the other artist for like consent and s*** to be on Donda and maybe even re-record their parts
Kanye's definitely has made stuff that he might've thought was "too good to be on this album" for every album of his. We also see influences of different Kanye albums in different songs that we listened to in the Listening parties in Atlanta. So maybe Kanye went through the stuff that he'd made and released, and decided he wanted to do it better in Donda.
Kanye has a massive set of unreleased s***. Given his creative genius mixed with his marketing and business mindset, I don't think he's going to waste a single minute of studio time he's spent in his entire career as an artist, and is going to strive to bring back the records he thought had potential but didn't put on those albums, which he was working on back in the day.
My theory mostly relies on the fact that Hurricane has made a come-back and Kanye probably thinks that some of his records were so good, they had to be included in a tribute to his mother.
I have spent exactly 3 minutes thinking about this, so don't come at me lmaoooo.
