I thought the line about Kim was "She said "You in the studio with who? Imma hurt you"
How I'm forty-two and still got a curfew?"

I was here in 2006-07 when many cast doubt on Kanye's ability to follow up two classic albums. Ye then went on to set the music-verse ablaze with "Can't Tell Me Nothing", then "Stronger", then "Good Life". Who can forget the epic 106&Park release date show?
I was here in 2008 when reputable reports came out that Kanye was going to use autotune and just sing on this next album following his mother's death. The fan base was split down the middle. The "Love Lockdown" premiere at the VMAs further divided because it partially confirmed the reports of Kanye abandoning rap for the next album. That album is looked back on very fondly; some even calling it a classic. Either way, it's hard to look back at that era and album without seeing Kanye's true genius.
I was here VMA night and post-VMAs when the fan base was as divided as it had been to date. People legit hated Kanye. There was as much, if not, more doubt than even the 808s era. Many were unsure if he could ever come back from this kind of backlash. News outlets that never even touch music were ripping Kanye to shreds. Then, after several months in exile, Kanye resurfaces in LA with the infamous 'freestyle.'
I was here during the MBDTF era; interviews, GOOD Fridays, album cover controversy, etc. When "So Appalled" leaked and "Monster" dropped ("See Me Now", too), people enjoyed them but were confident (hoping, anyway) that they weren't on the album. When people saw "So Appalled", "Monster", "Power" and "Devil in a Dress" were actually on the album, they were not happy. Maybe "disappointed" is the better way to phrase it. Either way, there was a little doubt that began to creep in as we led up to November 22, 2010. There were several threads of disappointment that we already had 'half of the album.' You see how misplaced that doubt looks nearly 8 years later.
I was here during the YEEZUS era; SNL premiere of "Black Skinhead" and "New Slaves". People were hyped with those songs. But, the rollout was weird. Aside from the projections across the world, we didn't get heavy promo. The CD case was clear and looked like something all of us could make. Again, Kanye went hard left and the fan base (or a certain segment) was a little confused as we led up to June 2013. What?! No real cover or single or promo??? You see again how Kanye delivered in his own way and on his own time.
Tonight will be classic. Enjoy it. Who knows how many 'eras' we have left. This era is no different as you can see. There has ALWAYS been controversy, doubts, ups and downs, etc.
Hope everyone enjoys tonight and the album. God bless!
