I got a s*** job man that’s why I can do it, don’t envy me
LMAO. And hell yeah I bet the vacation made this s*** fly by, I totally get that man. Where did you go?!
Went to the Jersey Shore. my gf is a huge fan of that show lmaoo, it’s her guilty pleasure, so we went there
chilled on the beach all day
only thing that would have made it better was DONDA to listen to lol
yeah it’s more reflective than really being in the s***, its personal but didn’t really seem to go deep on any of it, so even if its an hour and a half I end up feeling a little unfulfilled in that regard than I can from a shorter album
Which is the thing I really love about ye and JIK is that thematically they’re so strong, every song conveys the deeply personal and specific to Ye messages of family, mental health etc. and this has no way of being that with so many features and no super clear direction
Like is consistent throughout Ye’s career I’ll have to change what I expect from him to be prepared for it, but tbh I know this is gonna sound like a hot take, but it really felt like he was tapping into something on ye/JIK he hadn’t since the dropout bear trilogy (mainly TCD) which was a message beyond the supe om and fame sending a real human message without the overproduced or overly polished grief which is the sound he’s gone for in the past that never connected with me as well, and this feels like he’s just back on his s***, which still sounds great but isn’t fulfilling for me knowing what we’ve had
Idk I have to listen more
Totally agree with everything you said here. Ye and JIK are such important albums to me because they’re so short but say so much
Can’t wait to watch youtubers act like they understand that Jay Electronica verse
I asked bout what Bush did to Rwanda here cause i know someone w roots from there but didnt get an answer. That person didnt know either lmaooo
You know?
Dababy coming out before Donda at this point...
The only way he can save his career
Jesus Lord is so damn clean. I feel like Ye just sounds so comfortable on a lot of these tracks in contrast to JIK and other recent material. Even with this being an unfinished project.
