The first one was a garbage fire of a production and wasn’t received well. The director of the new one got to do whatever he wanted and he wanted to do a suicide squad movie.

It’s a sequel in the way that it uses some of the same characters and they very slightly talk about the last movie but it’s basically a reboot.

It’s like another directors take on it not like part 2
