I feel you. Honestly Water is one of the only songs on the album I genuinely enjoy listening to these days, even in spite of the poem, with Use This Gospel, On God, and Follow God being the only others.

Even each of those have have parts that bother me. UTG was straight up massacred compared to its leaked version, Follow God is mastered like ass, and On God has that dumbass “no I cannot let my family starve” line lol.

I think, if anything, JIK made me appreciate how great his discog is otherwise. I’ve legitimately enjoyed almost every song from this era so far more than it and I’m going into Donda with a more balanced perspective for it.
