him apologizing this far in wouldn't make much of a difference to people who want an answer for why he did it in the first place or who feel he is encouraging white supremacy both with the text of the shirt, Candace owens, various quotes, Trump support and Running for president. Realistically even if he didn't have this whole shirt fiasco many of them have wanted answers for years or changed behavior. So an apology no matter how long wouldn't really change that. For them.
