I’m not saying Chicago community activists shouldn’t take credit for fighting against police brutality in their own city
I mean that’s pretty obvious but if we talking about the world at large, no one was caring about chicagos issues unless it was in the form of entertainment
BLM the movement shed light for the world who have zero clue about what’s goin on here in the states. We had people across the glob fighting against police brutality on the behalf of the states which they could relate to their own communities
Chicago or any city community fighters couldn’t accomplish that alone despite how warranted it would be

A Mad Ass NiggaOh yeah blm the org is a scam, that’s known already by everyone and they caught a lot of heat a few years back. Ye know that. That’s why I find it pointless to call it out now seeing how we been did that. All it does is make white people further discredit the meaning of BLM. We already see when niggas get into it “but Black Lives Matter”. Ye is further pushing that dangerous mindset. I’ll never deny there’s better organizations out there tho.
Protesting is draining, especially mentally but PB and cop killings will never stop realistically but we can keep applying pressure so these dirty cops can be held accountable for their actions.
Where we differ is I don't think the shirt makes my life matter any less or that the KKK or racist win with a shirt or that they will buy the shirt but I get what you are saying

we didn't need a movement to say black life matters. Black life shouldn't only matter when there is 10 minute videos of our deaths under police or we become hashtags. It shouldn't just be reactionary. We matter either way. We can yell that we matter at the media and police all day its not going to change anything....

That’s why BLM movement is an important catalyst to use that works because it actually has a message that can be applied to the black diaspora at large

I only give the movement so much credit and think some of the support is performative
but I get what you guys are saying. Again the organization and movement gets credit for being short and catchy compared to many that do the work. They get the sensationalized news clips
