You want your kids to not be distant from other kids because they lack social media, but you also don't want them to be influenced by stupid or potentially dangerous s*** at a young age.

Restricting social media use and supervising it at such an early age is fine. I don't know why an 8 year old would need some s*** like an Instagram, but I can see Tik Tok being fun.

They just need to limit it to a certain amount of time everyday and be involved in your kid's life to see what they're up to.
