They were cool before Drake blew up
Theres a video of Drake being mad about Kanye not sending him beats like he promised when he was working on TML and Drakes manager at the time was telling him they dont want you to eat. They see you as competition.

And now I'm feeling like all of these niggas cutthroat

In 2011 they beefed because kanye and jay stole drakes idea of doing a collab album with wayne.

"We still got to do that album," Drake said of the Weezy collab. "I heard some other guys are coming out with an album, too. There's two other rappers that are coming out with an album together... I don't know where they got that idea."

Ye got on stage at Drakes fest in 2013 but there was still tension with drake having some bars on nwts about kanyes new s*** being trash. Also did an interview with rolling stones about and mentioned that yeezus had some questionable lines lol.

In 2015 they did blessings with big sean and seemed cool for a while. Working on wolves album, drake writing 30 hours, stretch my hands and s*** but apparently kanye was mad about drakes having a bigger pool than ye line

And then theres the 2018 situation about kanye inviting drake to wyoming to work on scorpion but they only worked on kanyes album. kanye found out about drakes release date and announced like 4 or 5 albums himself for june and poopity scooped over the beat he gave to drake and the pusha situation

I know about the TML story but I always thought that wasn't a big deal. He got beats in the end of the day and Ye was working on a lot of music during that period. I also highly doubt they stole the collab idea because Ye & Jay were working on music together since 09 so I really don't get that. You're right there's probably more to it but until 2016 I feel that wasn't something that big to get between them. Maybe I'm wrong, but the early stuff could also be some bs.

So I’ve been following the drake ye thing personally being on Ktt for years

But I also watched an hour long plus video regarding the matter and it always seemed like Drakes hyper competitiveness triggered the beef

The wtt story you shared, Drake only released TML at the time, imagine going at jay and ye making a collab when you only have one album out!! Ye actually took everything in stride

But doesnt really matter if they got the idea from drake or not. I was just saying why they didnt have a good relationship early on

I'm going in favor for Ye on this since a lot of WTT was already recorded during MBDTF sessions. But I could be wrong, nobody knows in the end. It just makes me wonder if they both felt this energy towards each other early on. That's why I was wondering if their relationship was iffy from the beginning

Edit: I can understand it did fuel Drakes feeling after what happened in 2018 and he was looking back like wtf did this guy pulled on me already.

Idk it’s just crazy for someone with one album out being so demanding. Ye gave him great beats, came out to his shows, took all the weird shots around 2011, the yeezus bars shots and still rocked with Drake
