turns out it was because of the Spotify “audio normalization” option that changes the eq of all tracks and by default it’s on on spotify and at this point I only listened to my downloaded flac and I was at work listening to this

the mixing/mastering not even that bad. only mbdtf and og tlop are bad. and maybe a couple of CD i remember the hits were mixed really well but some random songs had of mixing
