Nah, Superman is generally regarded as a corny boyscout and a vocal minority of Superman purists and critics stuck on Reeve's portrayal so it was incredibly divisive between two camps. Goyer, Nolan and Snyder understand comic and film are two different mediums and you can't please all, especially Superman fans because they all have their unique perception of how Superman should be presented. Movie still slaps regardless, and only has gotten better with time.
