SUPERMANI like different spins on characters but it's like they're not trying to make him a good person. And that's the single most important thing about him. He has lows and highs but he's still a good person.
Even the best "bad superman" stories tend to hold up because he still believes he's being good. He has reason and motive outside of lois
BvS trailer sets it up great "we have to know what he stands for" then Neil Degrasse Tyson and the theologist asking questions and then he's at the courthouse and the audience is like
MoS had a point where Clark says "I dont trust the people of earth either " or whatever tf he says.
And in BvS despite getting s*** on despite having each move you make be examined by every media outlet, despite the people that die "why keep fighting?"
And the answer is... Lois
His view on people must've changed since him and people came together to beat zod so how do you feel about people nowTHERE IT IS

Nah he was a solid Zod but whats the point to snapping his neck and showing superman killing if the very next movie he gonna come back to life and superman nearly wants to kill luther( for holding lois and martha), batman( for being batman) and kills demons eventually anyway / steppenwolf. Yes yes yes "ahhh my people the codex etc" but its not like he spends time trying to make more Kryptonians, finding others or even finding others with powers
