aren't 4k discs Region Free?
yes
It’s really amazing how Disney managed to take the shell of what Lucas and Spielberg were doing with pulp adventure cinema in the late 70’s and 80’s, filled it in with a format provided by Donner’s Superman & Raimi’s Spider-Man, removed all distinct authorial voices from it, and turned that into a flat standardized product which would be given a new coat of paint with each new release and ultimately convinced people this was the epitome of what quality in the genre looked like. Anything that deviates from that is considered weird.
damn.
It appears not, thank god
EDIT: Not against new footage, just felt it'd be unnecessary and lessen the impact of the Snyder Cut being Snyder's full vision
Thought there was supposed to be an additional Joker scene that was eluded to in trailers or promotional images.
As far as doing the whole totalitarian thing I think i prefer Justice League: A Better World as opposed to Injustice

There are still distinct authorial voices on display and you know it
Even Snyder gave WandaVision the
for its creative tangent. When you gonna watch it would you rather just keep throwing shade even though you do in fact enjoy some mcu.
Disney/Marvel hasn't just effected the superhero genre but Sci-Fi and Fantasy blockbusters in general. They've made it so that any original blockbuster or a blockbuster based off more obscure properties are overly criticized before even being released.
So many people on social media were making memes about how terrible Alita: Battle Angel looked or trashing Valerian as a CGI s***fest before they were even released in theaters. More than ever people are doubting James Cameron's Avatar sequels and even going to great lengths to discredit him & Lucas as a great creative forces in cinema.
Everyone has doubted Cameron's Avatar sequels since the moment they were announced (because nobody asked for them)

I’m sorry dude, I just don’t see this at all. James Gunn is given a little bit of free reign but he still feels constrained by the format. Shane Black with Iron Man 3 as well but his deviation was met with disdain. I have yet to see Wanda Vision so I will get back to you on that.

And when pressed he's very likely to just pull up with someone else's essay or name drop 6 philosophers whose worldview you're supposed to be aware of

You’re being unfair, you totally understood what I was saying. You’re being condescending for no reason. I have no problem with people liking Marvel films, just the other day I praised Infinity War and I’ve always loved the Guardians films so please let’s not pretend I’m just some mindless hater.

Yeah but I do think you tend to throw around alot of big words like "deconstruction" in your posts but I always walk away scratching my head. Invited you to explain yourself and sometimes you do but on this topic you don't. Still waiting to hear how Wonder Woman and Aquaman were any different or more compellingly conceptualized or more thematically sound or whatever than most of the MCU origins. I don't want to read someone else's take to explain your opinion fam.

I literally sent you an essay explaining it but because it wasn’t my words your eyes glazed over and if I did use my own words you would say it’s just big philosophy words. Oh wow I used deconstruction to describe Superman going to court for war crimes like everyone who’s ever written about the film in any detail has said.

You're not a mindless hater but youre sure in here and fam thread and LB throwing as much shade at MCU as possible so
Also this thread gets hurt when MCU thread dares to talk about Snyder so :shh:

I said more than ever so I already acknowledged there was doubt from the get go but unlike 2009 there’s more people trying to discredit Cameron as a creative force.

Why get worked up over a mega monopolies escapist products. I throw less shade then half the people in there. Deadpeg and Yeezy outright say it’s all rubbish usually. I even like Ragnarok and First Avenger.

I actually really liked his world building on a recent rewatch but holy is f*** is that dialogue ever bland, characters ever one dimensional, story ever played out etc. Still support anybody going for the big spectacle but Avatar wasn't great.
It’s hilarious cause Kevin Feige himself said he makes all of his yes men directors watch Superman: The Movie to understand its tone and structure before working on a marvel project. He basically just admitted what my supposedly “too difficult to understand” paragraph said.

Because they are lost causes
and I know you like some mcu so I'm confused why you always gotta bring them up in a negative way. Not that serious obv but so much relentless mcu shade got me feeling like the devil's advocate. It's like your one iconic letterboxd review about how something is considered so overrated that it might as well be underrated.
Not defending the mega monopolies, already said I don't support Disney crushing small cinemas and s*** but I've been reading marvel (and a little DC) my whole life so

Understood and disagreed
