Eisenberg as Luthor was fire mane but I understand tho niggas still hold on to certain portrayals in comics / the DCAU version of the character. It's understandable. But I enjoyed it.

Comic ain't modern it's been out for over a decade. Plus the main criticism was that he ain't comic accurate.. when this portrayal is in the comics lol

If they don't like it they don't like it

It's been out over a decade but niggas not reading that s***.

Like that's what I be saying about comic. Every comic ain't official. There might be a comic that has Lex Luthor looking like Carrot Top, but when people say "comic accurate", they mean the version of the character that is known to the public. I doubt there's any version or scenario of a character that a person can't point to a comic somewhere at some time and say yea a writer thought of that and wrote it out once

Did a top 10 list between DC and Marvel villains and I have him as 6. Not sure why Bane is so low but that's just how I feel

    1) Joker
    2) Magneto (Fassbender)
    3) Green Goblin (Raimi)
    4) Killmonger
    5) Zod
    6) Lex (Eisinberg)
    7) Zemo
    8) Thanos
    9) Bane
    10) Loki

like this list,in mine i would just switch put Green Gobiln at #2,thanos at #3 and loki at #6 for lex

I hate the "comic accurate" criticism cuz these don't ever apply to Nolan's Batman series which had Rachel even tho she is nowhere to be seen in the comics a Ra's Al Ghul that's not immortal and a Bane that isn't roided up on venom, or the fact that MCU Thor and Hulk are comic relief which is NOWHERE near accurate in the comics.. or Killmonger and Na'kia from BP 2018 who are nothing like their comic depictions..

S*** even Thanos motivation for snapping half the world away is different in the books

They only use this criticism when it's something they don't like and to appear more knowledgable tbh

I’ll play devil’s advocate here. Cause i generally agree with this and i f*** with Jesse’s Lex

there’s some things that are inherent in characters that people attach themselves to, general likeness, personalities, ideals, powers, etc.

I think even when it’s done in the comics some people don’t generally like those changes because they believe it doesn’t really fit what the character stands for usually. i get that criticism

you know what, that's fair. And even in my original post I said that people generally associate him with the DCAU depiction.

What Snyder’s been doing is an extension of ideas found in his Watchmen adaption. He’s both critical of these characters like Moore through deconstruction but also finds more value in them as symbols of human perseverance. Moore himself wanted to deconstruct the actual DC heroes like Superman and Batman but wasn’t allowed to do something so radical. Snyder was actually granted the ability to do this on a massive scale. What he’s doing is breaking these characters down while placing them within the current sociopolitical context and then building them back up as beacons of light. His trilogies main thesis is “if god came to earth, he’d still have to answer to the state. can that god then still provide something for people to strive towards despite being reduced to another component of their system.”

Deathstroke was incredible in Arrow too

Arrow Seasons 1 + 2 were so good.

Deathstroke was a huge part of that. Olicity ruined the show
