Nah I’m not even bashing Snyder at all. He’s the savior of the DCEU IMO

He did in 1 movie what WB has failed to do with bad movies or just simply not doing solo movies.

This movie was cool cus it felt like we got some satisfying character development and made me wish all their stories were fleshed out into solo movies

But all the DC d*** riders ITT think I’m hating on the movie when I’m complimenting the movie despite the s***ty spot WB put Snyder in

I mean no character in here actually got a full story. Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman and Aquaman got their full stories already in their movies. The only two who didn't really were The Flash and Cyborg and even then, the only one who kind of gets a really fleshed out story here is Cyborg but thats because he is the heart and soul of the film.

It would be a problem if they got stories that didn't relate to the central story of JL, but thats not what happens. The difference is that in the Avengers, nearly every character feels more like a toy product or some kind of cheap gag for identity politics being cashed out because they have no arc or emotional core themselves in those movies. How am I supposed to give a s*** about Black Panther, Captain Marvel, most of the Guardians, even Spider Man in Endgame or Infinity War when they're all just there for convenient plot points or to sell the brand? None of them have any actual arc for me to care what happens to them in those movies. I mean s***, Black Panther's inclusion in Endgame feels more like a video game intro rather than the character.

Here, every character gets an actual arc that relates deeply to the central story of Justice League. There is a reason nearly every characters arc has to do with their parental figures and that is because that is what ultimately unites them all. We don't care about WW or Aquaman's own stories in their movies because those stories aren't the story that is being explored here. This is a story about unity and Snyder keeps what matters for that theme here by exploring the hatred WW and Aquaman's people have for each other, but also allowing them to feel like real characters with their own lives. It isn't a big segment of the movie either, it's just enough to make them feel like real characters rather than toy products.

However this is nullified if they're scared to tackle the idea of a black Superman in a white America
