sounds like a smart money move. Thats basically what these studios do anyway nowadays. They just buy out small indie directors cuz they know they can control them. Thats what happened with Trevorrow or Coogler or Duvernay. They all essentially just sold out for the dough.

Lulu Wang said Disney came to her and tried to buy her out too and she said f*** that cuz she wants to remain true to her vision.

Of course normies want to go see blockbusters and s***, there’s no point s***ting on people for that lmao

As sad as it is, not everyone wants to see s*** like The Lighthouse

It’s just an unfortunate unsolvable problem that can only be addressed by continuing to support indie movies instead of sitting around crying about why your local multiplex won’t show obscure s***

I have no doubt that Disney is abusing the movie industry rn by pushing out s***ty remakes of their older films. I think that’s the bigger problem rather than something like Marvel which is mostly being kept separate to do it’s own thing now and is at least somewhat letting people have their creative vision (minus the ending battles lmao)

I went to see a movie every week for 4 years in a row until they started to make distribution so much more complicated that it became very difficult to see independent movies so don't apply this bullshit at me.

I have supported smaller films whenever possible. I just can't do it as much now when I have to drive hours out to see that movie. I mean f***, I had to drive out 30 minutes just to see the f***ing Irishman, a 200 million dollar Netflix movie.

Like y'all are f***ing blind to the bullshit Disney is doing. And f*** the general audience forever.

Nobody wants to see the Lighthouse because the media and movies are all owned by the same few corporations that are able to make everyone only want to see one kind of film. Nobody would want to see The Godfather today either, so ask yourself why they did in the 70s?

After rewatching MOS I realized that it’s about as good as a movie about the origin of the Clark Kent Superman as we gonna get tbh

way over hated, same with BvS cause the ultimate edition is great
