Great book.Very thrilling, confusing, and the ending was spectacular imo.
The last 10 or so pages are very confusing but the way everything was wrapped was very satisfying.
The narrator was so annoying tho,Ive never met such a pompous charachter

Finished Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein the other day. Was p good. Very different from the mainstream Frankenstein stories
Great book by Dee Brown. Heartbreaking to read how US Americans treated the natives to this day. 8,5/10
There There by Tommy Orange

novel about contemporary Native Americans in the Bay Area. interesting characters and perspectives but I found the story cluttered by too many characters. had to go back in the book numerous times to remember who was who and their relations. there were like a dozen characters and for the length of the story, it would have been better if there were only like six. still an enjoyable read though, will check out what the author does next

A People's Guide To Capitalism by Hadas Thier
I really enjoyed reading this book. It had some great explanations of different aspects of Marxist theory in more accessible terms. It ranges from Marx's labor theory to more modern economic sanctions and even ties in the coronavirus at the end. I would recommend this to anyone interested in becoming educated about Marxism but don't want to dive into Capital right away. 8.5/10
I read the two novellas this summer that precede this but took my time getting around to Sheep Chase, but damn I tore through this novel. Super fun read and interesting journey to follow. It's literally an unconventional detective story about finding a sheep in Japan. 4/5, really interested in some more Murakami.
finished the power of now, power of your subconscious mind and the 15 invaluable laws of growth
a lot of these self help books all kinda say the same s*** just in diff ways so imma be off em for the time being
def some gems and notes in em tho
What are you reading habits? I've got so many books to read, I was reading a chapter or 2 a day which meant I'd finish a book in a week. But it's hard to keep that routine

went on a huge lup where i didnt read anthing but now that im back into it im trying to read 1-2 chapters a day or at the very least 10 pages
i know it's slow but but i have a bunch of assignments so it's all i can do rn
so after going starting this in October, reading part 1, and then going on a slump of 0 reading I finally finished 1984
I got this edition because i liked the cover, and i got the same edition of Animal Farm, but the text is so small and tightly packed that it made it hard to read
i really struggled to get through part 1, cause i just found it boring. (but at the point i lost intrest in a lot of things - you know how life goes).
but after picking it back up part 2 and especially part 3 were really great.
while i was reading it i was thinking that this is similar to something, but i couldn't figure out what it was
then it clicked that the film Brazil (1985) is exactly like this
turns out Brazil was specifically influenced by 1984 and the original title was even "1984 and a 1/2", but then they released a 1984 film tin 1984 so they had to change it
just finished the third book of the Stormlight Archive
1300 pages
sheesh what an epic series
Just finished the flashback chapter where dalinar almost rage murders gavilar after going super saiyan on an army, lol
I am enjoying the Kaladin chapters of him being off on an investigative adventure. I think it has the potential to build a lot of tension between what he learns about the parshmen and what is going on back at urithiru.

How did you like Words of Radiance?
S*** gets real for Dalinar

Loved it. The ending felt just a bit rushed for me and not in the normal sense it just felt like he had to put a temporary bow on a lot of the main plot lines in the book.
But, overall, the story was amazing. I read it quicker than I did book 1, lol.
Even where I am in book 3 I still struggle with liking shallan’s character. She is so pretentious, but he is writing her to have this ‘mysterious’ vibe, but also super complex?? Idk, man... I catch myself praying for a non-shallan chapter every time I am finishing one up, lol.
What you think on shallan?
Sharks in the Time of Saviours by Kawai Strong Washburn

this one hit me hard
very powerful book about a Hawaiian family growing up and going down different paths. had a good amount of magical realism, which, as a Murakami fan, I love in my novels. this book was both hard to put down and hard to continue. it's getting a lot of praise after Obama said it was his top book of last year and rightfully so. I can tell the story will stick with me and it's one of my recent favorites for sure.
