First half was really a love letter to the mecha genre

they really went all out for this mechamaru fight, damn

he looks so much creepier in the manga 💀 mappa did amazing tho

Disagreed the animation of him as a monster directly after this was very disturbing

When the mech roared that was straight up Evangelion vibes

Yeah I agree he looked creepier in the anime.
