They are published in magazines or online formats that put less time restraints on the author.
Almost every manga published in jump is doomed to never reach it's potential in writing or art because of ridiculous work pressure mangaka are under.
So my problem is never with Gege or the series itself, but with jump

Big excepcion is Togashi

Your first work in jump is bound to be heavily restricted when it comes to creative freedom.
Togashi does not have that problem because he has earlier works and has cemented himself over decades.
It was also a different time.
Gege just isn't with his full heart in this series anymore, hope he brings the feeling back with his idol manga lmao

But I genuinely dislike how gege can say pretty much anything and people will interpret it and run with their narrative like saying „he hates jjk“ „he wants to do an idol manga“ „he hates every character“ we dont really know the guy and its almost always out of context coming from badly translated interviews. Like common whats the point.

Altho I think he is great and not particularly worse than any of the manga you mention. Like I absolutely love Mob and Dungeon Meshi too. I dont think theyre significantly better written tho
