that s*** hit different freshman year, the weed ain’t what it used to be
This tape really introduced me to new sounds along with 808s and Dark Grapes as I wasn't really following Lil B
Really felt like something special was brewing
testing is better than ALLA
f*** outta here with this lol
one of my favorite mixtapes of all time that came out during a time where i was very impressionable and was really digging deep for music back. a very special time where you had to actually look for the good s*** instead of an algorithm feeding it to you.
rocky and asap mob were easily one of the coolest collective of their time, and rocky was geniunely my favorite rapper in high school. i truly thought each of them were gonna blow up to do great things, especially once ferg dropped trap lord (funny how that panned out lol...) but i still have such fond memories of discovering them. the noisey / vice interviews still remain some of my favorite interviews of all time because you got soool much insight about rocky upbringing, and lifestyle before and when he blew up. im genuinely upset this kind of stuff does not exist anymore.

One of the most underrated rap albums of the 2010s to me
Also I just realized Don’t Be Dumb is dropping damn near 13 years exactly to the day after this album

This Week’s Project:

One of my favorite albums of all time
A personal classic for me, feel like this is arguably the most underrated rap album of the 2010s
Definitely my favourite Rocky album, but I could be biased because I spent a great summer listening to it on repeat. This album feels very psychedelic and colorful for me, more than any other rap album, and I’m a huge psychedelic fan so it fits well. There are a couple tracks I don’t f*** with (Wavybone is an instant skip for me, that songs a chore) so not a perfect project by any means. LSD and Excuse Me back to back is my highlight, as well as Back Home.
one of the first rollouts I actively followed, the hype from Multiply w/ the LPFJ2 snippet and then LPFJ2 actually dropping was unreal
RIP Yams
best rocky album and the visuals still unbeaten 10 years later
ALLA honestly might be my favorite Rocky album. LLA tuff to beat but I definitely come back to this more
Holy Ghost his best intro. That Danger Mouse beat is immaculate
Fine Whine is beautiful. When that piano and them drums come in
LPFJ2 is classic
Jukebox Joints probably my most played song from the album
Max B
Pharsyde and Wavy Bone both smooth af
M’$
Everyday should’ve been a bigger song
