The craziest thing about that Gordy scene is how Peele didn’t show Gordy until after the balloon popped but you could clearly hear he was going crazy

I was more or so thinking with Gordy going around and people begging him to stop before dying and then checking under the table was very similar to the recordings of the Columbine shooters in the library

This is a modern day black western tied into horror. Classic.

The s*** with the monkey was basically a mirror to the situation with the UFO

Ricky Rupe and his family was trying to profit off a wild creature like the film crew did with the chimp. Both situations didn’t end well

Then you can throw in how everybody goes out there way to capture some spectacular situation on camera even though their lives are at risk (storm chasers , animal shows, Gordy, and the UFO )

That’s what I got from the movie

But this past week there’s been some think pieces and a***ysis over this movie that has me going so you can go down that rabbit hole too lol

movie LOOKED great. pacing was off. humor wasn't bad. but idk, I really didn't rock with this.

It’s kinda a double edged sword with his movies

you can just go into it with face value and think they’re fine but later have someone beat you over the head with “nah you don’t get it” which makes you overthink the next movies you see of his

Problem with that is some people that I seen go in there for the messages seem to focus on that and just confuse themselves or overthink everything and not even enjoy it if the message doesn’t hit or not painfully obvious and wonder why everyone else liked it.

So many tweets saying it was either garbage or “what the hell was that even about”

Personally, I go to his movies to see a fun/original horror movie. I enjoyed every one of them.

Only for US I had to Google my ass off for the meanings which was fun in itself but it didn’t really changed how I viewed the movie.

Get Out and especially Nope was easy to comprehend on the car ride back from the movies and a quick talk with my friends.

I was soooo excited to see it for the reason of it being original from a pretty damn good creator. I don’t worship peele but I do appreciate what he can offer. I really wanted to give this a chance but I just couldn’t get into it. I spent a lot of time during the movie trying to figure it out, but still haven’t settled on anything yet, even a day later.

My good friend who I trust said he had to let it sit with him for a few days before he turned around and ended up liking it. I guess we’ll see
