movie is still just alright to me

deeper meanings and allegories aside i still think get out and us went way harder

with this movie i just felt like i was being edged waiting to see some weird s***

Holding off on international release hurt the box office

Baffling choice

There was still lots of good headlines

• Nope being the highest grossing opening weekend for a original movie since Us

• all of JP’s movies crossing 100m

• 3 back to back #1 movies at the box office for Peele

But yeah it made 100m less than Get Out and Us

I think / hope it’s still seen as a success though

I'm copping the blu ray to complete my Peele collection

Why did Jupe get so intense while explaining the SNL skit? I didn’t really get that

I took as a way to show he never faced his trauma

The same way he let people pay 50 grand to stay in his secret room of Gordy memorabilia or wants people to pay to see him exploit the alien monster

He can’t even talk about it without filtering it through a comedy sketch for a tv show that made fun/made content out his own traumatic experience

But as he’s recounting the sketch he can’t help but remember what actually happened and how he felt
