IcyNeckI just think its a bit crazy to say “the details we have indicate towards a pattern we’ve seen in other far worse DV examples” but I can’t say “the details we have indicate this white woman was tripping and provoked a black man in an isolated incident”
Definitely, cus we’ve seen examples of both ends, so what makes 1 side 100% true over the other?

thegreatdivineI personally think he's guilty. You're free to not think so. I'm just speaking based on my experience and the experience of countless women I know who have gone through the same thing and those texts read like they're from a woman who has suffered abuse at that man's hands not just once. I bet it isn't the first time this has happened. Let's just wait and see how this all unravels before I say more.
Not to disrespect you but the stance you are taking now and stance you took not even 3 months ago on a similar matter is weird. Especially given how much evidence pointed towards abuse and a pattern of violence in the other case

Like I said when this story first came up, I can't imagine a scenario where a woman you're in a relationship with, is calmy trying to go through your phone, if she suspects you've been cheating, or have been texting/sliding in the dms of other women
Now I'm not taking sides, but this is not a clear cut case in my opinion.
I think his lawyer should tighten up though, seems like they're trying to salvage his public image, I'd save it for after the hearing.

Eh what you hear as a result of the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard trial is that there is no such thing as a mutually abusive relationship. What they say now is that one person initiates the abusive behavior, and in order to cope, the abused victim will do things to get even so to speak. So that continues the cycle until it escalates to a point where one person might unfortunately lose their life.

Maybe I'm also projecting but I've had abusive partners before. I've made calls and sent similar texts to friends insisting I was okay so my partners wouldn't get in trouble because I still loved them and hoped we could work things out but the whole time, I was scared for my life and despite being abused, I still stayed in those relationships longer than I should have.
Any woman who has ever been in an abusive relationship with a man will immediately recognize a similar pattern in those texts.
Just go through the quoted replies in this tweet. The court of public opinion has already shifted in favor of Jonathan's partner and it's really mostly because of these texts his attorney released.
