the act of cheating itself isn't abuse though. the lying, manipulation, gaslighting, degrading verbally to make someone believe they aren't being cheated on could be considered abuse. But just f***ing someone else and not telling isn't abuse. Its deception yes but monogamy making people think the act of cheating itself is abuse when its really just dishonesty .

Yes you would be equally hurt but one is "hey you are breaking the rules of our relationship of monogamy" and the other is openly purposely degrading you. Lets say someone wasn't delivering sexually or intimately in a way. Sometimes people cheat because they feel someone can't accept the rejection of a break up so they try to keep both sides happy by stepping out .

exactly. That's why I hate when people try to make cheating comparable to the other offenses.

Like if a woman was getting beat on or done wrong by her man and decided to cheat on him, would she be seen as an abuser? No

and this is what I agree on its just kind of a larger more nuanced conversation that don't know if people are ready to have here.

no there is still going to currently be a court case. Whether that updates or is cancelled who knows. Currently the evidence his lawyer is talking about hasn't been presented yet so we don't know

That’s a fact. Definitely cheating hurts regardless. It sucks. We all know that.

But it definitely doesn’t come from the same place as verbally beating someone or tryna cut someone down with words like the examples you gave.
