I was on the same boat as you guys a while back when I started watching it.

I really enjoyed the characters of Stardust Crusaders but the format (monster of the week) made it feel like the show was dragging on for too long.

Diamond Is Unbreakable has more of a "slice of life" feel to it so the pacing of the "main" story is all over the place. And you have all these different characters that aren't really developed so by the time you finish the season you feel like "oh? that's it?".

Golden Wind is structured A LOT better with a central plot and each episode moves it forward. Characters are likable and developed. The art style introduced in the previous season is more refined. From a technical perspective the animation and sound design are better.

Take this with a grain of salt, however, as I watched it out of curiosity because of memes. If a friend was watching it and wasn't feeling it at all after Part I, I'd tell them to just skip to Golden Wind, tbh, as it's a whole different vibe.

I understand that sentiment. I kept waiting for it to "click" but Golden Wind was the on part I really liked.

Not to say I didn't like the others but I felt like I was almost on autopilot for most of the episodes.

Overall, I do like how Jojo isn't full of the clichés and tropes that most anime suffer from. The art style is unique and learning that the creator draws inspiration from fashion made me appreciate it more.

the ending of Golden Wind kinda sucks tho lmfao def brings it below Diamond in quality imo

Wondering if the anime will make stone ocean's ending easier to understand, considering what they did with previous parts

I was going back to my old laptop and saw a review I did for a chapter almost a year to this day ago (chapter 95 to be exact)

it is astonishing how different this series is now lmao

its the closest thing to nihilistic he goes for, a ton of Jojo fans only expect goofs and ass pulls that are death defying

idk if you've already read 6 so I dont wanna go any deeper than that. But after you read it, just read up on the most popular theories on reddit, and I swear it'll become one of your most liked endings in the series

I'm not the biggest part 5 fan, but the anime does do a good job of showing just how well structured the story telling is with that part

I would contend that it was an intentional choice by Araki to have such a linear plot (if you think of the parents Giorno has, it make sense that s*** just gets done), but that doesn't negate the truth of your statement. I think the series as a whole would be very muffled if every part only featured episodes that were exclusively about reaching the final destination

Yeah i did read it and i liked the ending, but its a very polarizing ending so the average jojo fan might hate it

Manga jojo fans seemed to be so much more grounded than anime onlies, so I def do expect people to hate it

I wasn't mad at it, but I can see how it may have been disappointing. Like you have that sudden shift in plot with the flashbacks and then you don't have any real glimpse into the aftermath of it all. You just see Giorno becoming the boss without any elaboration, you don't see the reactions to Buccelatti's death, or what becomes of Trish, etc. In that regard, Diamond Is Unbreakable was more satisfying.
