okay, this nigga is officially 4/4…album is gonna be a f***ing classic.

Makes me really happy how the quality in his music has turned around for this album. The song pack he dropped a couple years ago was mid and that Revenge song he dropped earlier this year was horrible. Glad to see we’ll get something much better.

Idk why dudes think he fell off after 1999

Summer Knights and B4DA$$ are both just as good

Edit: I just realized it’s been 7 years since B4DA$$

Just like notbrock just said, Joey has always been dope.

Unfortunately he suffered from the "Nas Illmatic effect". People have been brainwashed to think that his only good project was "1999" and everything after it is trash, and that's not true at all. He continued to make dope projects after "1999" also.

Nah 1999, Summer Knights, and B4.da.$$ are nice, that lil three track The Light Pack EP is also cool. All Amerikkkan Badass is ass though but that's the one that made him blow up. I'm in the minority who thinks that it's ass though so it's whatever.

His issue is that he took such a long gap from AABA to now and to me I'm like...nigga that bullshit was nowhere good enough for you to be thinking you can take a whole five year break from dropping a project. But I get it. He's an actor more these days and he gotta kid. All that takes time.

I'm looking forward to 2000 though. I think a lot of rappers who came up between 2017 to present who have done that dusty ass boom bap sample heavy hip-hop style that Joey was on back in the early 2010s have made better and more interesting music. But that kinda Joey is still nice.

ofc but nah i wasn’t feeling much after b4da$$. Can’t put my finger on what it was really but the past singles been hella nice.

Joeys problem was that he wanted to evolve from that “illmatic” style and he hated it when anybody wanted to hear that from him. It looks like now he enjoys making that music again.
