The other guy mentioned a 996 which does exist but is a cruel set up billionaires like Jack Ma and Richard Liu to maximize the workforce like many capitalists strive to do. office jobs vary a bit. some people have it cushy (mostly senior-level state officials) come in at 9, take a nap at 1, and leave at 4. it's not all bad, unless you work in IT or certain essential areas of the government; then OT is the norm and generally not compensated. i have a friend that used to work at tencent cloud, and they lived and died by the 996.

• client 1 called them and was like "hey we're being DoS'ed".

• they checked logs and found a tencent customer was running commands against both clients.
