Make sure you make your resume for each job specific to the description for the job with your skills and achievements
never make it too long either. If its too short you can look underqualified, if its too long the person reading it WILL switch off

not more than 2 pages
Email the CEO for a job
That's how I got mine
Emailed the VP for mine
I had a referral though
This is a tip more so when you actually get the job and wanna move up but...At the end of the day life is a popularity contest, businesses love people who fit their corporate culture more so than your qualifications. Sad to say but if everyone in your job likes you and you’re mediocre you’ll still move up much faster than if you’re amazing at your job but don’t really network with anyone.
So go kiss some ass and you’ll make it big in no time. It’s a f***ing job to make a living at the end of the day, so put your pride aside and do what it takes to chase the dollar. You probably won’t be able to look at yourself in the mirror when you get to the top but hey, at least you’ll be stacking.
I feel disgusted just typing all that s*** out, F*** America, our buddy system for the corporate culture whether it be working McDonald’s or at Goldman Sachs is ubiquitous, it’s like going back to HS all over again. Life is a game, just play your cards right. S*** is sad tbh. Or maybe I’m just sad tbh. Or maybe it’s really both.
I got a lead position at my job. Besides the fact I had been there the longest / experience.... I was told I got the position bcuz of my personality
Always ask questions at the end of an interview. Preferably questions that imply you’d like to make that job a lifelong career (even if you have no plans to)
This should be common sense but always dress well for the interview. I’ve seen people complain about not getting any call backs only to find out they wore jeans and a t shirt to the interview
Always Follow up because it shows initiative
Knowing the history of your workplace and bringing it up is also a good way to show interest.
Make sure you make your resume for each job specific to the description for the job with your skills and achievements
This is important
As far as working federally goes, an algorithm scans through your resume to pick up key words that fit that specific job
Dont be a wage slave. Create your own destiny.
This is ideal but most people aren’t built for that

that's some real s***. obviously we all want to win but I feel like I'd have to be fake and pretend to be friends with all these people I can't stand to get beyond the entry point. life is centered around connections and who you know tho. strange but it makes sense
if you're in college go to your career fair
also put out 5-10 job applications daily. at most this takes about 1-1.5 hours a day. you should be at about 200 applications in a month.
if you're trying to get into government, it can take a while to get a position. i just got an offer last week for a job i applied to almost 2 years ago
