Nov 23, 2019OooStarted d with ye imo. And it’s a combination of both. Kanye has regressed musically and lyrically and he’s not pushing himself artistically speaking either. It’s like he dips his feet into things and thinks that’s good enough instead of immersing himself in it to get the best product he can.
Eminem is the type who’s just stuck in the past and can’t evolve. He had a thing and was stuck on it and couldn’t improve it seemed like. Sure ye has a few songs I kinda enjoy each project but as a whole it falls flat. And while I enjoy those songs for what they are they don’t usually stay in rotation for more than three months tops @Sdashense
thats what i mean by expectation tho, kanye has pushed the envelope so often that now every release is expected to be at the same level or higher. so he can only put out something thats received well at that tier? production wise i dont think hes gotten worse at all, just been hovering around the same point for a little while which is still top notch. Lyric wise hes def been inconsistent to me but still can return to form; see cudi montage, yikes, and on god as some examples.
