i just mean like specifically which was the album where you feel like it started for Kanye? Was it ye? JIK? KSG? All of them? and are they bad albums to you or just not as boundary pushing/comparable to his past works? i agree somewhat, like ye was solid to me, ksg has some really good songs onnit for me like fire, reborn, kids see ghosts, cudi montage. JIK was a little underwhelming for me but i still do need a little longer to sit with it.

Its not that hes not making good music anymore its just not necessarily in the same tier/league as his prior works. and does one fault a great artist because he has set his standard very high for a majority of his works? i would argue to an extent but not overbearingly to lead to overly critiquing albums or songs that are less then incredible. It can be unfair to always put that expectation on an artist especially with differing public perceptions and opinions. id say jimi's point would be more fully aligned with like eminem, someone who clearly got lost in the fame/success whirlwind. i mean when was the last time hes made even a good song let alone album? even if you argue kanye's albums haven't been good, i would find it hard to believe one couldn't find at least a few songs within those albums that they enjoy. and if thats the case, its more or less a consistency thing then creativity thing imo because you can still create good content but what hes trying to go for in the grander scope (album wise) and what resonates may not always fully sync up. and that happens to even the best of artists.

Started d with ye imo. And it’s a combination of both. Kanye has regressed musically and lyrically and he’s not pushing himself artistically speaking either. It’s like he dips his feet into things and thinks that’s good enough instead of immersing himself in it to get the best product he can.

Eminem is the type who’s just stuck in the past and can’t evolve. He had a thing and was stuck on it and couldn’t improve it seemed like. Sure ye has a few songs I kinda enjoy each project but as a whole it falls flat. And while I enjoy those songs for what they are they don’t usually stay in rotation for more than three months tops @Sdashense
