From Joe Budden Podcast:
I'll give yall something that I got from someone whos music opinion I do hold in high regard, they said "yo, that Dre and Kanye project is different, when I say different, I mean probably some of the best s*** you've ever heard, and I'm serious"
they normally s*** on him whenever possible too
I really underestimated Dre... Mixing on the new single was superb.
Definitely want this to come out.

didnt joe say this about yandhi too
didnt joe say this about yandhi too
I find that hard to believe considering on its release date YANDHI vocals and production weren't close to done, probably the production ideas themselves were said to be good (and it was true as evidenced by JIK)
Dre and his team (and Ye?) have spent 9 months working on the already finished tracks for JIK changing up the production considerably, plus I think it'll be ready for release this week or next

Who said this
So, little bit of a nugget here
But this release is mutually beneficial for dre and kanye
So, I caught a comment from one of dre's right hand producer men, focus
Which said:
"We released compton and it didn't get the reaction we wanted" and went on to basically say, dre is going to release a new album to make up for it
This jik remix will be a promo run for dre to scoop up kanye fans
Dre album out later this year, they've already recorded the features

it wasn't before yandhi was meant to originally release, if i remember correctly it was on state of the culture around spring 2019 before kanye revamped it to jik. From the way he described it he was told it was something that would win old kanye fans back but that wasn't the impression i got from the leaks, unless those leaks were from a far earlier stage and he worked on it a lot before it all got scrapped for jik

When/where'd Focus say this btw?
Just seen his son passed away the other day in a car accident, awful news :(

that's crazy

Oh yeah he was probably talking to Styles P about it, he was in the studio with Ye in Feb 2019 working on YANDHI
Its the same thing Virgil Abloh said at the same time too
Ye really turned to Christianity after Coachella, and I imagine Joe was told that before then
that's crazy
I remember an article last year saying he had something like 6 albums coming out
The Em one, JIK2, and others
