It's crazy to see now that Kanye leaks are better than official Kanye songs

TL;DR I didn't like JIK, but I f***ing love the leaked songs that came from the sessions of both JIK and Yandhi, such as Wake the Dead and the alt version of Brothers.

This is probably going to get downvoted to oblivion because of my opinion ab JIK but

When JESUS IS KING released, I had my headphones in during art class and I bumped all 27 minutes of it, initally enjoying every single track due to the hype. The album came after months of Yandhi songs slowly leaking online, and I loved every single Yandhi track that surfaced. I was highly anticipating the album.

When I heard the album was going to be entirely clean and a new sound, I thought "well he's been known for popularizing new sounds, I'm sure he can pull this off". Unfortunately, after giving the album several listens up until recently, I think I've come to the final decision that I do not enjoy JIK. Not a single track is enjoyable to me, I got sick of Follow God after overplaying it.

However, I still come on to here to eupport the leaked songs. Wake the Dead surfaced online and the alternative version of Brothers did as well. Both of these tracks? 10/10. Perfection. Kanye snapped. Most of the unreleased songs from 2018 and maybe even 2019 go f***ing HARD, and I really wish Yandhi was released instead. Raw Kanye. Not these half-baked Christian ideas that count as the first misstep in a truly great discography. It's no wonder we see Yandhi counted in discography rankings now, it's one of the biggest "what ifs" in the history of music, and it shouldn't be. I didn't even listen to the entirety of Jesus Is Born and I can't say I'm looking forward to the Dre-produced JIIK.

BUT Yandhi is amazing, and so are most of the JIK session leaks such as Wake the Dead. I guess what I can say is I thank you guys for supporting the groupbuys, I thank the sellers, I thank Leakthis, I thank everybody involved, for helping release what Kanye should have released instead of the utter disappointment we received last October.

as much as ON GOD is by far the best track on jik and cannot be improved, a dre remix could make me ascend

Revisited this album today for the first time since pretty much the weeks after it came out
I’m in a lot better place with my own faith & mentally in certain aspects, this a really good album man. Kept it to his soul I respect that.
