It’s weird because these are all good individual songs. If these were one offs on his albums (like a Go Crazy or Circulate) these types of songs could work. But an entire albums worth? I’m not so sure.

I wish this was more like American Gangster like some of y'all said. Not soulful enough for that comparison.
