    Mr Carter

Y’all always frame it as someone leeching off Drake

Jay addressed multiple people who all had already taken shots at him. Drake just another head getting addressed

Nicki and Ye are Skitzo and don’t deserve responses.
Also both have been popping off for years and haven’t gotten much of a response, who popped out a couple weeks ago and got an immediate response?

While lll agree the only thing that has changed since him saying rap beef isn’t worth it is iceman . Leaves you wondering if no disses on iceman does he even address the others

Worded it better than me, I agree

How do we know it wasn't always planned? Not like the roots picnic has changed dates.

Again, all is takes is some negativity toward Drake for people to cope for billionaire maga supporters. Maybe Jay should have “talked tough to those crackers” when it came to the NFL

He really got these guys shook up.

Cognitive dissonance with Jay Z is always baffling to me. And I like his music, but people put their heads in the sand with how he markets himself versus the reality.

Yeah I’m saying there is no way to know . I am saying rap beef isn’t worth it then addressing old circumstances felt odd . But I did just take it as a display of skill and responding more than trying to actually start a beef with anyone

Oh yeah there is an undeniable hypocrisy to Jay Z lines in here that some of his fans simply won’t acknowledge

Drake fans don't believe in anything. Pretending to believe in things just to point out hypocrisy doesn't work. You're in league with DJ Rapeademiks and Aiden "Chud the Builder" Ross. It's pure nihilism.

Spectators like watching your boy get his head caved in on the regular. That's all it is. Enjoy

Everybody's "ingrained in comparison"... it was probably even worse then than it is now.

This isn't my opinion, BTW, there's song lyrics, and cultural detritus to prove it.

I don't like Jay Z in the same way I dont like Peter Thiel; they're capitalist leeches that make the world a worse place.

I dont care if you like Jay Z or not. If the nigga had said, "I love Jay Z so much", I'd have kept it moving.

What I won't countenance, however, is people just straight up lying about verifiable facts. Jay Z is a great rapper, but he's never been THE GUY in any era. He's also not the most consistent, as demonstrated above.

In general, even IRL, people need to understand that facts aren't things that can be twisted and spun to fit whatever narrative you like.

Before I respond, how old are are you?

You said that Jay was never THE GUY in any era. What’s your definition of the guy?

If you’re going by numbers - ok

But if you’re going by influence and skill - he most definitely was the guy.

From 98 - 03 he was arguably the most consistent and influential rapper.

He (helped) popularize so many fads.

He had dudes stop jerseys and wearing button ups.

If you don’t like Jay - ok. But to say that he was never the guy shows a disconnect on your part.

  • especially when j cole literally had to pay you to get his s*** back lol
you moving like them same crackas

I’ll give yall Ja as a singles artist the had some number ones that year but Hov still outsold him in the first week and overall in terms of album sales

Hov an album artist with hit singles

Ja was a hit singles artist with throw away albums

    Apples to oranges

Pain is Love sold more than The Blueprint.

    It's close but it did.

  • TAXI

No matter his age, jay has always been consistent with the way he drops these live concert/festival acapella freestyles. Nobody can ever outdo him in wordplay subliminals.

People can think whatever they want but I'm noticing Jay Z music haters (keyword music) use alternative facts

If y’all can’t appreciate one of the greatest MCs of all time rapping again then idk what to tell you. The sales bullshit is meaningless to me because there’s no universe where 50 Cent or Eminem are more important to Hip Hop than Rakim or B.I.G. Guys like Hov paved the way for Hip Hop to become as big as it became.

I don’t think a lot accomplished from saying “ you have a bad contract you are a slave “ as Drake used and now Jay Z because they are all beholden to “ crackas” in some sense . They are artist and not revolutionaries

Very convenient that the things you're mentioning aren't objectively quantifiable.

Skill: he got famously washed by Eminem. There has been no point in both their careers where Jay Z was a better technical rapper. Even when Em was ass circa Recovery, Jay Z was uber ass around that time with BP3.

Consistent: Em dropped SSLP/MMLP/TES in that same time period. Commercially and culturally (wider culture, not just hip-hop) bigger than anything Jay Z has ever dropped.

Popularizing fads: I'm happy he made you stop wearing Jerseys with change clothes, but at some point I was wearing a bandaid on my face because of Pimp Juice so I dont even know how that means anything.

Personally, I would have just stayed home.

    Darwin Prize behavior.

Every notable rapper in the last 20 years have stated Jay was a major influence

Kanye, Kendrick, Cole, Drake, Wayne etc.

    His influence is absolutely undeniable
