rapsI don’t want another MBDTF i want him to do something he’s never done or revisit things he’s sparsely done
I’d take a FourFive Seconds esque country album or another 80’s synth pop take over another MBDTF type album (which he’s done 2/3 times with Pablo, DONDA and now Bully: mash up everything we like about him thus far into a maximalist album)
I more mean something that shows a lot of thought, effort and layering. The genre/sound is really besides the point

Yeah people clown Drake but he embraced every beef and engaged in battles against people that stood way more to gain than he did. Like he could’ve laughed all of these guys off aside from maybe how Meek came at him

Not responding to Adidon and backing out after NLU isnt exactly embracing and engaging all due respek

Travelling Wilburys I guess but they probably didn't have alot of cred amongst the alternative scene that blew up through the 80s into the 90s

I think Bully could’ve been that album with more fleshed out writing but I appreciate it. The album does definitely have a narrative to it.
First half is self affirmations and ego justifications and the highs. Bully title track is him wrestling and fighting and accepting his medication. Second half is him kinda taking some level of self reflection, pep talks, and also some of the frustrations with taking medication and feeling like he’s dimming his light.
With the exception of “Last Breath”.
But I don’t think it’s a bad album at all. Just not enough to win everyone over again.
