The way he fumbled his entire buzz coming home needs to be studied. But tbh he was never a rapper fr him blowing up and getting knocked prolly saved his life fr he was on trajectory to get photoshopped in some clouds Ona black T iykyk
Hov could make sure we never heard another Drake album ever again if he wanted to. There’s levels to this
Lmaoooooooooo
Hip hop is still a relatively young genre, compared to rock, jazz, blues, etc
Ageism was a thing in rock until the late 90s/early 00s when all of its elder statesmen were getting old and had to learn how to age gracefully.
Rock was about 40-45 years old at the time. Hip hop is around the same age today. Given time, ageism will be less of a thing for rap as well, especially if the mainstream keeps getting carried by older rappers.
I think there was still some ageism in rock then. Wit the pop punk wave that came during the time. I think that really stopped close to the 2010s
Hov went on an interview spree before iceman to get in front of some narratives but he has the power to make sure we never hear an album again. Smooth brain.

💯
I'm 40, just like Drake is about to be. Same generation
I'm tired of ageism in Hip Hop. No other genre does it and I'm starting to think it's encouraged to make black people look dumb and immature
That part

I think the late 90s/early 00s for rock was a pretty comparable point to where hip hop is now; people are really starting to see the results of great veteran rap and it’s making people appreciate older rappers more, but ageism still exists. There was ageism in rock past 2002 but it was far less prevalent than it was in the late 80s, for example.
Also similarly to 2010s rap, rock saw a period of young greats dying in the early 90s during the peak of grunge that stunted its mainstream growth for a period and led to older artists stepping up (Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Johnny Cash; Rick Rubin’s approach made a killing during this time).
Why would he want to jump back when Jay-Z was there first

Jay Hova lol the Roc right along with diddy right bron got his booty tickled too right 🙈🤭
As far as rap goats go, its
1. Drake
2. Jay
3. Biggie
4. Kendrick
5. Pac
debate ur mother
Pac always #1 IMO

his last 2 threads before Drake diss didn’t even do a 2nd page
”run s***” yeah run absolute dog s***
its like when kendrick fans thought he really had that kind of motion just for his numbers to freefall to regular level 2 years later
I’m glad you do Elric fr, anyone who loves Bully I appreciate the s*** out of no joke
We're used to him wilding out and being more emotional but medicated Calmye was to be expected and it just feels like more of a laid back Rakim type of delivery. Drake gets away with sounding like that basically at all time
He's up there

I think HOV gets too much s*** for renegade, they both killed it IMO
bron guy wants to jump back on the ovo train so bad sorry miss james we don’t let in 2 faced cock suckas in the club
The why is Future on Iceman

he did one podcast with GQ and then talked about his writing process for 15 minutes along with 30 other artists for his placement on NYT’s American writers piece. Hardly an interview spree

Neil probably the first boomer to regain his rock cred eh?
I guess Paul Simon had done Graceland a few years before Neil came roaring back but it wasn't rock

Paul one of the few of his time to do the 80s really well. He had those pop smarts
Stop being terrified of aging. There's only one way to stop it and it ain't good
Maybe some fake abs

If you weren't dead/not totally gone from d**** the 80s was SUPER kind to 60s acts lmfao. First wave of boomer nostalgia really
I think the only decade to be as kind to a previous generation was the 2000s to the 8ps ngl
