The production on Bully was great, no doubt, but the vocals left a lot to be desired. I didn’t even have a problem with the lyrics as much as I did his delivery, it literally sounded like he did all the raps in one take & called it a day (in my opinion)

Hip hop is still a relatively young genre, compared to rock, jazz, blues, etc

Ageism was a thing in rock until the late 90s/early 00s when all of its elder statesmen were getting old and had to learn how to age gracefully.

Rock was about 40-45 years old at the time. Hip hop is around the same age today. Given time, ageism will be less of a thing for rap as well, especially if the mainstream keeps getting carried by older rappers.
