lol you right. I def was expecting more. Dope movie but the storyline was basic
Bro..these scenes outside the saloons look too fake. I swear a big ass painted mural is the sky/mountain background. So distracting, lol.
Kinda checked out after one hour. R.J. Cyler as Jim Beckwourth was dope to watch. Aside from that...snoozefest.

It was too long and lacking consistently great dialogue.
I also thought the end was corny, but the performances mostly were strong. Glad to see Majors leading a film, opposed to being a supporting cast member.
Need RJ in more stuff, been cool to watch him over the years.
Wait… is the director the guy that got his aloe Vera toilet paper stolen by Jay-Z?
Hilarious exchange

i feel like that mural look was a stylistic decision to mimic old westerns
Was more mid than I would have liked it to be.
Some recycled ideas. Felt pretty aimless.
Regina and Idris were the best things about it. Soundtrack was distracting.
Just kind of a bummer. This should have been more of an epic. An event.
And it was basically just tombstone but with ppl who look like me.
I feel like Idris is a little too good at playing these despicable mfers man…
How did he not get nominated for an Oscar for this?

Entertaining flick. Story was basic revenge plot and end twist was meh but kept my attention and action was cool
Watching this made me realize why my grandad loved these movies
I feel you but that’s westerns for you
1 guy will take down a whole town
I will say I like the directorial style of some scenes. I think the director has a bright future
This was a lot of fun

He and Jake Gyllenhaal to me epitomize the handsome lead actor who always makes a better villain then hero.
It's something about them that just works better when bad.

!https://youtu.be/g2VcBelboj8It’s crazy how obvious of a snub that was 🤬

I’m just happy that someone discovered this quality about them, far too many “lead” actors fade away for chasing the same handsome hero trope
That moment after “Everybody but him”
